Learner. Leader. Partner.

Jessica Calabrese

Reorganizing schools, and the roles principals, coaches and teachers take, can change student outcomes. Realigning our work to create a coherent and sustainable professional learning system is how we get there.

Think back to the last time you learned something that changed the way you operated moving forward.

Likely, you had the opportunity to think, practice, talk and make meaning of the new ideas overtime, with people who were similarly engaged. And as a result, you gained new and meaningful realizations. This is the learning our teachers deserve because this is the learning our students deserve.

SHARING WHAT WE’VE LEARNED

Changing School Requires
New Ways of Working Together

If we want better experiences and outcomes for our students, creating better learning experiences for our teachers is the key. And we are the ones who have to do something different.

In Learning Together, our team shares specifics about the learning system we developed. We offer insight into the ways that principals, coaches and teachers can shift their roles and relationships to align their work on the shared vision of better student learning experiences. We provide scenarios that bring this new way of working and learning together to life.

Kara Jackson

“Learning Together offers a bold and inspiring account of how teachers, coaches, and school leaders genuinely partner to make schools places where both adults and students learn and thrive! The concrete guidance on how to design, lead, and participate in a coherent professional learning system is terrific.”

― Kara Jackson, Professor, University of Washington
Megan Franke

“Are we willing to challenge existing structures and create schools that “racially diverse children and families love and thrive in”? Learning Together argues we have to and we can by organizing schools to nurture teacher learning. The ideas are thought-provoking, compelling and doable.”

― Megan Franke, Professor of Education, UCLA
Damien Pattenaude

“Learning Together is more than just a book. It is reflective of the heart and commitment the authors poured into improving outcomes for kids. I was honored to see in action what is written in these pages. Simply put, this work was transformational for learning and teaching.”

― Damien Pattenaude, Superintendent, Renton School District
Damien Pattenaude

“Learning Together is an extraordinary guidebook that dares us to reimagine schools as places where everyone comes to learn—teachers, students, coaches, and administrators—and gives us the practical advice and examples to bring our visions to life. I can’t wait for my colleagues to read it so we can enact it together!”

― Tracy Johnston Zager, Math Coach and Author of Becoming the Math Teacher You Wish You’d Had
